Beach Surf Wall Murals

Looking for a fun or colorful theme for your child’s bedroom?  Tropical island beach themes are popular and beautiful, and can offer many different decorating ideas.  One of the coolest and most popular ways to turn any kid’s bedroom into a surfer’s dream is through the use of beach surf wall murals.

These days, beach surf wall murals go on quickly and come off just as easily.  Gone are the days of messy wallpaper applications that left sticky glue reside behind when you removed them from your walls.  Advances in printing and materials have led to bright, vibrant, and breathtaking scenes printed on peel-and-stick vinyl wall decals.  Surf wall murals depicting beach scenes, tropical backdrops, or tremendous crashing waves can be produced in ultra-realistic fashion, and in sizes never before possible.  Great online sites like the Wall Sticker Outlet carry large selections of beach-themed wall decor, and always offer free shipping as well!

For the avid surfer or surf fan, beach wall murals must include an array of colorful surfboards.  Set against a monster wave backdrop, a surf wall mural or surf shack wall decal goes perfectly against another mural of a sandy beach.  By layering the stickers and decals involved in your surf wall mural, the wall of your child’s bedroom can instantly become an entire tropical scene upon which to build the rest of the room’s decor.

Beach surf wall mural possibilities also include other options.  Custom-printed Minute Murals created on professional-grade wall covering come as complete kits ready to hang.  These wall murals assemble in minutes and can be moved and hung exactly where you need them to go for instant dramatic impact.  Dry-erase wall stickers in beach or surf themes are also available, and they make perfect messaging and list writing room accents for kids or teens on the go.  Surf shack or beach themed growth charts are great additions to tropically decorated rooms, and wall borders are also available to fit alongside any type of beach surf wall mural.

Other wall decals and stickers can be purchased to accentuate beach surf wall murals and really make them pop!  From tropical Hawaiian flowers to palm tree vinyl decals, these types of decorations fit right in.  Many of these beach and surf themed stickers aren’t just for walls, either.  Fully removable and repositionable, these vinyl decals can be used to bring color and life to furniture, lampshades, picture frames, closets… the only limit is your own imagination.  Tropical peel and stick appliques and decals also include cool 3-D products such as the tropical window wall mural made by Wallies, giving a glimpse into beach life no matter which wall you place it on.

Wall hangings and canvas beach surf wall murals can also be added to any tropically themed room.  The flexibility offered here allows for these murals to be placed in addition to existing wall decor, in places where color is needed.  Many types of canvas kids wall art can be customized and personalized with your child’s own name at no additional cost.  Try to find an artist who will do this for you, or a boutique who features such artisans.

In the end, no tropical paradise is complete without the addition of a beach surf wall mural.  Make sure yours is complete with flowers, palm trees, sun, and surf.  Pick colors and accessories that accent your sandy beach theme, and maybe even a few pieces of surf flair to help bring everything to life.  Aloha!

Be sure to visit the Wall Sticker Outlet for beach surf wall murals and decals by Wallies, Wallcandy Arts, Roommates, and others. And for more children’s decor, check out the baby boutique at The Frog and the Princess!

Equipment Used For Snowboarding Can Be Found At Any Snowboarding Shop

For those who are interested in going on a first snowboarding holiday and need to know more about equipment used for snowboarding they would need to find a good snowboarding equipment outlet where they could find the type of board to use as well as other snowboarding equipment. The first and most important equipment used for snowboarding is obviously the snowboard and one may be quite surprised at first at the size of the snowboard, which is quite large.

When choosing equipment used for snowboarding and more specifically a snowboard, one should ensure that the length of the board should reach up to the person’s chin though there are exceptions such as heavier people need to choose a board that is longer and not so flexible. Also, in case of light persons, the board could be somewhat shorter and also more flexible. The width of the snowboard should be enough to prevent the feet from hanging over the edge and bigger feet necessarily require wider boards. One should also know that in the equipment used for snowboarding, snowboards can either be freestyle/freeriding or Alpine.

Snowboards, boots, clothes and glasses and helmets

The second equipment used for snowboarding is the boots which need to fit well and should also be comfortable. Not having the boots that fit correctly can inhibit control of snowboarding movements and correct fitting boots would boost self confidence and help in more adventurous snowboarding activities.

Generally, one may find soft snowboarding boots or hard snowboarding boots. Soft boots are light and provide good support and are most often used by beginners and are made up of an inner liner that is good for support and also an outer layer that provides traction and shock absorption and are flexible for performing tricks. Hard boots go hand in hand with Alpine snowboards and are quite like ski boots having a rigid back from the heel up and provides better edge when turning.

The next equipment used for snowboarding is the binding that links the above two items together and there are two types of bindings; one is the strap bindings and the other step-in bindings. Strap bindings are for beginner snowboarders and are mostly attached to the board, especially rented boards and have a high back plate to support the ankles and are similar to the support provided by the back of the ski boot. The strap-in bindings cause a lot of inconvenience as it involves a lot of bending to tighten the straps. Other equipment used for snowboarding includes clothing, glasses and helmets.

Telluride Ski Resort Terrain Park Grooming with Chris Meyer and the Park Bully Snow Cat

WATCH IN HQ! Chris Meyer late in the 2009 season grooming some wet snow in the Hoot Brown Terrain Park with the Mercedes Park Bully. Grooming conditions were far from ideal. The snow is really wet and it was hard to get a good pass because of the warm weather. This is the only footage like this on Youtube and this is a rare glimpse at how terrain parks are created. This Snow Cat cost over 250K and is powered by a Mercedes Twin Turbo 7.2 Liter Inline 6 Cylinder engine which is custom designed to run hydraulic pumps. This Cat has 6 pumps total which power the driving track, tiller and blade. This is one of the most complex pieces of machinery in the Telluride Valley. The computer system which runs it is state of the art. The Mercedes Park Bully is amazing.

Cheaper Family Ski Holidays During October Half Term

Taking your family on a ski holiday this season needn’t be expensive and stressful. With travel insiders predicting low availability and high prices during the February 2009 half term, the October school holiday is looking more and more attractive.

According to leading online European snow report provider, skiinfo, nearly 20 European ski resorts will be open in time for the October half term. In contrast to the massively popular February holiday – and this year most schools will be off during the same single week – availability is high, prices are low, and last minute bookings are a possibility.

Austria is expected to have eight ski areas open: Solden, the Stubai glacier near Innsbruck, the Pitztal Glacier, the Kaunertal glacier, the Hintertux glacier, Tux, the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier and the Dachstein Glacier. Solden will host the beginning of the Northern Hemisphere’s Ski World Cup during this period.

Zermatt, Saas Fee and Glacier 3000 in Switzerland all expect to be open by the end of October. As well as skiing and snowboarding, Glacier 3000 also features the high adrenaline Alpine Coaster downhill roller coaster ride with its ten turns, six waves and three jumps along a one kilometre track.

Options in France are limited to the glacier at Tignes and Les Deux Alpes – which will host the Mondial du Freeski and the Mondial du Snowboard during the half term week to celebrate the start of the season.

The Italian resorts of Passo Stelvio and Val Senales expect to be open, as do Folgefon and Galdhopiggen in Norway.

For those snow-seekers hoping to head further afield, the United States (including Colorado and Vermont) and Canada (including Whistler and Banff) are all worth checking out as ski areas often open mid to late October. You could just catch the end of the ski seasons in New Zealand and Chile too.

In addition to cheaper prices and quieter resorts, taking your ski holiday early may bring further benefits. Many European areas run festival weekends with special events and parties marking the beginning of the new season. You and your family will also have something to look forward to once autumn starts to creep in.

In preparation for a half term ski getaway, it’s worth regularly checking with travel companies for early bird deals and the skiinfo website for updates on resort conditions. Also consider pre-booking a meet and greet airport car parking service which will make the journey with children and winter sports gear an altogether smoother and less stressful experience.
