FreeStyle Street Bmx : Danny MacAskill Inspired Bicycles April 2009

To See More Click on The link : www.youtube.com Filmed over the period of a few months in and around Edinburgh by Dave Sowerby, this video of Inspired Bicycles team rider Danny macaskill (more info at www.dannymacaskill.com) features probably the best collection of street/street trials riding ever seen. There’s some huge riding, but also some of the most technically difficult and imaginative lines you will ever see. Without a doubt, this video pushes the envelope of what is perceived as possible on a trials bike. Credit to Band of Horses for their epic song ‘The Funeral.’ You can find out more about the band and their music at www.bandofhorses.com or you can buy the featured song from itunes here:

Freestyle Bmx – Drive yourself to the Limits

Freestyle BMX otherwise also known as Bike Stunt is actually the trick of maneuvering bicycles. Well, these bicycles are not your ordinary ones and they come with 20 wheelbase that are originally meant for races. Started in the late 70s and the early 80s, bike stunt reached the pinnacle of its popularity in the 80s decade but was soon robbed of it in the 90s. However, this temporary decline in popularity brought to the market rider-owned bicycle companies, which gave a fresh lease of life to the bicycles.

The Bike Stunt is divided into five major genres, namely Street, Skateparks, Vert, Trails and Flatland riding.

Street riding is exactly what it sounds like, the players use anything on the street to show their skills. Be it walls, banks, rails, gaps or anything that forms an obstacle, the best thing about being a street freestyler is that there are no limits and no stopping. However, those who try BMX Street have a different bike than the other types like Park or Dirt. Firstly, they are the heaviest and strongest types of bikes for these tricks, and secondly, they have two or four stunt pegs for grinding. In fact, these features make it hard to do Park or Dirt with the same bike.

Skateparks is the name derived from the parks that are meant for skateboarders, but due to scarcity of space, the BMX bikers are forced to practice there. Hence, much of the Saktepark tricks are influenced by the tricks that skateboarders do.

In Vert riding, two players ride on a Vert ramp that consists of two â??quarter pipesâ?? that face each other. It is around 10 to 13 feet high and both faces of the ramp have an extended vertical transition.

Trails consist of a series of jumps built from dirt that is usually compact mud. The trick usually consists of taking a steep jump and landing at a slightly plainer ground.

Flatland is almost a lost form of art which has seen no popularity in recent years but has a loyal fan following. Flatland is usually performed on smooth ground and the tricks are usually spinning and balancing.

Different types of tricks

The basics of the freestyling tricks have always been the same and whatever new tricks that are found are usually based on these ones.

1. Air seems to be the most common and most preferred one. It basically consists of jumping in the air and landing with both legs on the pedal.

2. Bunny hop- making the bike jump off the ground without actually performing a jump.

3. Manual â?? where freestylers ride with the front wheel in the air, without pedaling.

4. Fakie â?? It simply consists of riding backwards

5. Grind â?? Slithering down any object without using the wheels.

6. Endo â?? where the bike is stopped with the front wheel and raining the back wheel in the air.

7. Wallride â?? riding along a vertical wall or anything similar to it.

There are sub divisions to these tricks, but these remain to be the foundation of all freestyling BMX tricks.

Freestyle BMX , Drive Yourself To The Limits

Freestyle BMX otherwise also known as Bike Stunt is actually the trick of maneuvering bicycles. Well, these bicycles are not your ordinary ones and they come with 20inch wheelbase that are originally meant for races.

Burton Freestyle Snowboards

There are numerous people who simply hate winter. When the snow starts to fall, and the days become shorter these folks lock themselves in their rooms, and infrequently come out till spring. Weight gain, as well as a condition known as unhappy or Seasonal affected Disorder, which is a winter-related sort of depression, is soon to follow.

While the snurfer was generally regarded as kids’s toy, Poppen arranged snurfing competitions across the nation. One day, a man named Jake Burton attended one of these events. He right away fell in love with the game, and decided to expand on its probabilities. Thus, when he moved to Londonderry, Vermont in 1977, he created the first laminated, hardwood board. Burton improved on the snurfer by adding bindings, which made a big difference in safety and potency. In fact the improvements were so major, that when Burton entered another snurfing competition, he galvanized the envy of his fellow competitors when he beat them by a long shot. In 1994, after a long fight, snowboarding was eventually accepted as an Olympic sport.

While being fit certainly helps, snowboarding is more about dynamic balance and less about beast strength. To make preparations for your snowboarding lesson, spend a little time on a balance board, a stability ball or a bosu.

You need to select snowboard clothing that will wick moisture, supply heat and make allowance for liberty of movement.

Start with a couple of long thermal underclothes and a long thermal undershirt. Never use cotton! It will store moisture, instead of wicking it. Stored moisture causes you to feel wet and feeling wet makes you cold. Polyester or polypropylene materials are the best materials for snowboard underwear.
Your next layer of clothing is in charge of insulation. A fleece turtleneck works best. In very cold weather, you will want to wear a pullover over the turtleneck. The outer layer of snowboard clothing is the most difficult, because it has to be water resistant, windproof and breathable. Since snowboarding might take more upper-body motion than skiing, snowboard jackets have a tendency to be a somewhat baggier.
Snowboard pants should also be consisting of waterproof, breathable and windproof materials. Be warned! Many snowboarding movements may cause your pants to shift while riding. Avoid embarrassment, and look for pants with belt loops. You may also need to consider snowboard pants with padding around the knee and butt, that may make life more comfortable when you’re kneeling or sitting on the slope.

Keeping your hands nice and toasty will help the remainder of your body nice and warm. Since they don’t use ski poles, they can wear mittens, which are often warmer than gloves. A helmet will keep your head warm and safe, and goggles will shield your eyes from harmful UV rays.

Snowboarders ride in either of two stances ; goofy or regular. If you ride with your right foot forward, you are nerdy, and if you ride with your left foot forward, you are regular. Spotty or regular snowboard position has nothing to do with whether you are right-handed or left-handed.

Learning to snowboard needs a sense of humor.
